Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I know it's been a while, but things have been really busy, and being 35+ weeks pregnant with a 21 mo old is a lot of work.

I have lots of pics so lets get to it.

First things first, Simba strikes again. We went to the farmers market a few weeks ago and its the ONLY place I can get these pecan rolls...once a week....if we have time...and they don't run out...Needless to say, I was so fired up, because I got ONE bite of it, and he destroyed the rest while we were out. UGH- planning on getting one tomorrow morning and locking it up.

watching her shows before bed

she put this on all by herself

Last weekend was really busy. We went to Dayton Friday night for a JMU Alumni gathering at the baseball game and had a great time. Josie LOVED the ballpark, the dragon mascots, and she clapped and danced all night long. We will definitely be taking her back to a game soon- maybe before the baby comes.

that's not my butt-crack- its the pants panel

breakfast in bed

Then on Saturday, we slept in a bit and had to get back to Columbus, pick up Simba, eat lunch, take a quick nap and then head to Mansfield for Chloe's 1st birthday.
Josie had so much fun with all the kids and really got into helping open Chloe's gifts. Chloe got a special shopping cart with a big Minnie Mouse, needless to say Josie was ramming that thing around and carried Minnie all night. We may have to get her, her own Minnie Mouse, she kept saying "my Minnie Mouse" and wouldn't hand it over.

Nick and I were really proud of her, because its very unusual for her to be in the middle of things. She likes to stand back and observe and MAYBE get in on the action- glad she felt comfortable enough with so many people around.

only 9 mo age difference, but Josie looks
like a monster compared to Chloe

We headed back home late that night and Josie went right to sleep. She is such a good traveler and sleeper, thank god! Sunday we were meeting Uncles Johnny and Ernie for brunch at our favorite place- Northstar Cafe. They have the most amazing ricotta pancakes that Josie and I share. Well, as of lately, she basically eats my entire plate. I didn't get any pictures that day, but will the next time they swing through in a few weeks.

big weekend for her

We decided it was time to get in her big girl bed, so I tried it at nap time last Sunday. Maybe she was wound up from the pancakes, but she was in no mood to nap, so we hung out all day.

wiping doggies nose

So since Sunday night Josie has officially moved to her big girl room and she is doing really well. Sleeping all night of course, but unfortunately she fell out of the bed last night. I felt so bad, it was at about 4 am this morning and I'm sure it scared the shit out of her. It scared me to death, because all I heard was a huge thud and she started crying. Her bed is so high off the ground, we really need to get a rail for the bottom of the bed too. I scooped her up, she settled down and immediately went back to sleep- such a good girl. AND woke up in a great mood, so must not have bothered her to much, but we need to get another rail stat.

Busy weekend coming up again with Aunt Linda in town. Will try and take lots of pics, and my time alone with Josie is dwindling, so going to soak up all those sweet moments with my one and only while she still is.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! We are trying to get back on track in our house. I have been off all week because of my long weekend, and Josie has been, lets just say, interesting all week as well.

Everything is a disaster right now. If she doesn't get what she wants right away, or we don't understand her, or she has water on her shorts because she was throwing water around, or I gave her a graham cracker instead of a nilla wafer, the world is obviously coming to an end. I'm afraid the terrible twos are coming fast, or its just an off week- we'll see how the weekend shapes up.

While I was gone, Nick and Josie had a great daddy/daughter weekend! Nick took Friday off so they spent the day together, and Saturday morning, they went to a special water workshop that Nick signed up for at Cosi and then back to the kids play area. Of course she had a great time, BUT she also embarrassed the shit out of Nick. hahaa, of course it happened when I wasn't there- always the way. There were lots of little ones running around and enjoying the workshop, and Josie decided to take a massive dump and cleared the joint out. Nick said it smelled so awful, all the other parents were checking their kids pants, so he finally had to own up and admit it was Josie! hahahahah I died when he told me.

passed out on the way home

always in my shoes...

I got home after 11 on Saturday, so Nick let me sleep in when Josie got up and then by 9 everyone was waking me up. Josie was so excited to see me and kept giving me hugs in bed, and said "get up, mama" and would try to lift me and pull the covers off. She is so sweet.

Markers are one of her favorite things. We had to buy the Color Wonder ones so she wouldn't draw all over everything. She plays with them every day. And we are trying to transition her from the high chair to her booster full time. She likes sitting in it, but its still a little short for the table. May need to stick something underneath to raise it a bit.

enjoying the nice, cool weather

Oh yea, and she told me to "go away" the other day...I know its only just beginning...

Have a great weekend- we are busy doing fun things, so will report back later.

What we've been up to

I know we have been a little MIA- lots going on and this weekend is no exception. I have a big work event and will be working from sun up to sun down, Friday and Saturday, so I figured I better update now, because it wont happen on Friday.

I need to look at my pics to even remember what has been going on, time is flying by and I'm 32 weeks along and can't believe it.

Josie was all ready for the USA game last week and then we blew it.

not wanting to get up

Simba strikes again- I wanted to murder him

On Friday the 4th, we went to Cincinnati to visit Molly, Joe, Caroline and baby Tommy! We had yet to meet the little man and the girls needed to get back together, so we made a day of it. We stopped at the outlet mall on the way and then IKEA- wow, huge mistake. Well, not a mistake, because we found what we needed, BUT that place is so freaking huge and they make you walk through the entire building, EVEN IF the ONE thing you wanted, was right in the beginning. Smart how they set the store up, but damn it took us 45 mins just to walk through the place.

We finally made it to the Dolan's and Josie warmed up immediately. Caroline didn't really give her a chance, they were off playing, running, and trading shoes. Josie absolutely LOVED Caroline's heels. She wore them the entire time and would flick them across the room when she wanted to take them off. I don't think we will be getting any though- too much noise and clacking on the hardwood floors!

Caroline loves hugs- Josie, not so much! hahah

they said "cheeeeeeeeeeeeese" about
a million times

bump heads- the aftermath

on the way home- big day and a tired girl

loves her water table

Jen and her family are on vacation this week, so Grandma is visiting and watching Josie, and I took Monday off and Nick will take Friday. I know he's excited for their big father/daughter weekend plans. I'm sure I'll get lots of updates and hopefully they'll be able to come visit me this weekend.

Oh- and probably one of the funniest things thus far with Josie's new vocabulary and understanding is-- Nick tooted the other day, so she stopped, pointed at him and said "dada pooped". We died.
