Brunch with Santa

A few weeks ago we went to brunch with Santa again in Mansfield and it was so much fun! Josie talked about how she was going to see Santa, tell him all the special things she wanted and sit on his lap. Of course when push came to shove, that did not happen. At least we didn't have a total meltdown this year, just the look of sheer terror.

Cate was a good girl and didn't mind all the commotion. She hung out in her special outfit (another hand-me-down of course), but she looked so beautiful. I'm upset I didn't get a picture of her alone. Frankie, Josie and Chloe had so much fun running around, eating lunch, getting balloon animals and of course eating cookies!

Decorating

We were planning on decorating when Aunt Jesse was here, but with everyone getting sick, that idea went down the drain. Nick put up the outside lights when Josie was taking a nap. When she got up, they went outside and she was sooooooooooo surprised to see Snoopy and Charlie Brown in her yard!

She loves to look at him through the window and when we walk back from Jen's at night, we have to run so we can get a good look before going in the house.

We decorated the tree without her, but saved a few goodies. Her specials ornaments and those that aren't breakable. She hung a few, but immediately ripped them back off the tree. We have to watch her carefully, because she will sneak into the front room and start grabbing things she shouldn't

.

Last night I took her around the neighborhood to look at all the lights. Uncle Johnny used to take Keri and I every year, so we hope to continue that tradition. Thankfully a lot of people put lights up this year, and she kept saying, "my Christmas tree" and " look at the lights". I have been trying to talk about Santa and point him out whenever I can, because we will be going to 'Brunch with Santa' next weekend like we did last year. It was a total debacle, so I'm hoping it goes much smoother-probably not though. The Santa at the mall down the street is really really good, so I will have to take Cate for her first photo. We'll see if Josie wants to join in the fun.

Stay tuned!

3 Months

Little Miss Cate turned 3 months last week and I cant believe it. I cant imagine life without two kids now and she is such a happy easy baby. Unfortunately, we were at the doctor on the 3rd for her cough, so I finally got the chance to take some pics today.

She is growing like a weed and adjusting well at Jen's house. This past week was her first full week there and she didn't really well. She is pretty much on a schedule now, and oddly enough, its the same schedule as Josie except for an extra night feeding- and by night feeding I mean 10 pm. Since Wednesday she has slept 10 pm- 7 am with me waking her up. I pray she keeps this up once I move her back to the crib. I know she likes the bassinet- its nice and cozy. I plan on giving up that 10 pm feeding once shes sleeping 10-7 for a while longer.

This months stats
Height- 23 in (approx)
Weight- 13 lb 12 oz
Diaper size- 2
Clothes size- 3-6 mo

Since she is only up for an hour at the most between feedings, I try and spend as much time as I can with her. Usually when I pick her up after work, she is ready to go back to sleep, which works out because then I can spend alone time with Josie. We are putting Josie to bed earlier, so from 8-10 that is our time to snuggle and I just love it. It's really the only time I get to be with her since the mornings are so busy and she is still sleeping so much. I know it won't be like this forever, and everyone's schedules are changing- including Nicks and mine.

She is such a happy baby and loves when Josie talks to her and comes to wake her up from a nap. Josie is always looking for her and will feed her baby dolls and pretend its Cate. She is starting to really laugh out loud, and I thought her eyes were going to be dark brown, but recently they have changed and look just like Grandmas. They have a lot of green in them- I pray they stay that way.

Thanksgiving

Well, I am finally getting around to Thanksgiving photos. It has been a long 2 weeks in the Sarli house.

First the heat went out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving...great. It was absolutely freezing in here   (64 degrees in Josie's room). Thankfully we had someone come out that night and fix the problem. Then Josie's cold that she had been battling for a few weeks came to a head on Wednesday. She was running a fever, shivering, achy and was worn out. We put her to bed at 6:30 and she slept until 8:30 the next morning. I honestly didn't know if we were going to make it to Mansfield that day, but she woke up in a good mood, fever free and was ready to go.

Went to Mansfield, had a great dinner (almost ruined it- whoopsie) and then got back home around 8:30 or so. That night Cate spiked a fever and it was above 100.1 so we had to call the doctor at 2 am. Poor thing couldn't sleep because she was so congested and couldn't breathe. We got out the humidifier, snot sucker and saline. She made it through the night OK without any Tylenol and didn't have a fever the next day. We got no sleep, because she was up so much and the next night went the same way. By 2 am on Saturday morning, I sent Nick to the basement to get her bassinet so she could sleep at an incline. He was not happy with me, but she slept much better and is still in it now. Her congestion is almost gone, still has a little cough, but no fever and acts just the same.

It was a short week with Aunt Jesse but we managed to get a few good pics.
