Weekend Bliss

This weekend was wonderful- not only because of the weather, but also because of lots of quality family time. Since I've gone back to work I LIVE for my weekends and make sure not to book too much because I want to be with Josie as much as possible. For the second time only, we went to the grocery store together- all three of us. You never know how its going to go- will she behave, pass out, or will we be that obnoxious family that everyone gives the stink eye, because their kid is crying and out of control. Of course, Josie was perfect, she has yet to have a meltdown in public. The deli lady and the meat counter lady were so happy that we finally brought her in! Yes, we know all the GE workers...

Nick was busy washing and waxing both of our cars, so Josie and I continued with our Mother/Daughter weekend. Sunday was so beautiful I just had to get her outside and enjoy the sunshine. We literally haven't been on a walk since October, so we were way overdue. When we got back we threw the ball for Riley and boy did she enjoy that! She thought Riley running up and down the yard was just the funniest thing!

We also went Target-ing. I had to get a few staples so Josie tagged along. Once we got home, it was time for another nap. I don't know if her gums are finally starting to bother her, but she was kind of fussy. So long story short, we took a nap together. We also had some dinner guests, Molly, Joe and Caroline Dolan and they girls were so cute together. I hate that I didn't take any pictures. Caroline loved grabbing Josie's feet- it was so cute. Then it was time for bed- and an end to another great weekend. :)

5 Months

Another month down, another month older! Josie is continuing to grow and learn everyday and we love watching her discover new things (such as her feet.) She is still obsessed with looking and touching them and now wants to grab everything we have. She especially loves to slobber all over my glasses and try and snitch them off my face! She also loves to pet Simba, and would love to pet Riley, but that is a work in progress.

The last few weeks she has started to try and sit up on her own, especially when she is in her bouncy seat. She still isn't sitting alone, but she is really really close! Josie also loves to watch every single thing we are eating and I know she is wondering why we aren't sharing our delicious meals with her- soon little girl, soon. She is definitely ready for table food, and in a few weeks we will start with an avocado! I really didn't want to start with cereal or oatmeal, and there is no rule stating that we HAVE too. So I'd rather start with a "real" food and see how she likes it. I cant imagine her not liking avocado because I lived off guac in the summer, and always have at least one avocado every week. I am going to try and make her baby food too! I figured it was cheaper, and this way I know exactly what she is eating, and it doesn't seem to be too difficult. We shall see though, I usually get a wild hair up my ass about things, and then it fizzles out faster then when the idea first entered my head. Here is the book that will guide me into my baby cooking days...

Josie has obviously gone through a growth spurt recently (or I was trying to stuff her into small clothes) because she literally outgrew all of her sleepers in one week and most of her clothes! Needless to say, I had some shopping to do over the last few weeks so she would have something to wear! I found some of the cutest clothes at Kohls (Jumping Beans are my favorite) and I cant wait for Spring/Summer to arrive so she can rock the skirts I bought. I am trying not to spend too much money on clothes because lets be honest, she will outgrow them shortly, and she has become quite the, how should I say...doo doo artist. Hahah- she has been blowing out of every outfit and spitting up more, so buying the $5 pair of pants and top is where we are at!

She is still our champion sleeper and is doing better about not waking up so early. She still takes 3-4 naps a day and sleeps all night so I'm not going to complain one bit! :)  Also, Aunt Jessie was in town over the weekend and she and Josie had a big time together again. Josie just loves her and is always smiling and laughing when they are playing. I have lots of pictures from this week/weekend so lets get to them!

Here are her stats for month 5

Height- 26.5-27in (very rough estimate)
Weight- 16lb 6oz
Diaper Size- 2
Clothes Size- Mostly 6 mo. 9mo for sleepers and bodysuits
Eye Color- turning more brown- still a bit of green

Even if his spot is taken- he will squeeeeze in! :)

can you tell what her favorite toy is???

Our super tan baby- not fair!

Oh yea- and one thing I am NOT looking forward to- daylight savings time...lets hope she adjusts quickly...

Happy Friday

Happy Friday to all! Not many pictures today, I will have an update after this weekend since Aunt Jessie is in town! Wish her luck on her audition this afternoon :)

Also, for all you new mamma's out there, or you if know a mamma, or your mamma knows a mamma, the wonderful, fabulous lactation consultant that I worked with started her own website. So, if you know anyone who could use her help in the greater Columbus area please send her information along. Josie even makes an appearance in the testimonial tab!

Having a grand time...

Today Josie is rocking her future Alma Mater and having a good time!

We had fun taking pictures with my phone yesterday! No, I did not edit the photos with a cool blue hue.
This is due to having green walls, an aqua onesie and shitty lighting- wonderful!

And finally- trying on some new pants! Cutest belly ever :)

Happy Friday

Things have pretty much been status quo around here. Josie has been drooling, but its gotten much worse this week and I have a feeling that tooth is going to pop up any day now! Since the teething process has begun she has also had a diaper rash and major blowouts this week. Thankfully she is still eating OK and acting normal. They don't seem to bother her too much, although she has been waking up at 6 am every morning! Waaay too early girlfriend, you need to go back to sleep until 7.

She absolutely loves her new jumper/activity center as you can see. It definitely keeps her busy and its good exercise besides. I have tried sitting her up, we aren't there yet- she just dive bombs head first into the bed...soon I'm sure. Oh yea, and she found her feet this week! She is obsessed with looking down and touching them.

Side note- she had a massive blowout so bad this morning, I literally thought I was going to throw up. Worst.One.Yet. I don't think I'll be eating Freschetta pepperoni pizza ever again.

Have a great weekend! xoxo

PS-- Keri and Frank just found out they are having a GIRL! :)
