Florida Fun

We're baaaaaaack! I have to say we are missing the sunshine and warmer weather. Even though the first two days were cold and rainy, it was so nice to get away and take Josie someplace new.

She was such a good girl for me on both flights. She slept on the way to Atlanta and we literally had to run to our gate to catch our connection. The second flight was not so hot. I ended up in the last row...the last seat...next to the shitter...with no window...and the pilot kept having to circle the airport in FL because the wind was up and he was having a hard time landing. Thankfully Josie didn't seem to mind, but the old lady sitting across from me literally grabbed the barf bag, I thought I was going to have to do the same.

I have lots of pictures. deal with it.

we hung out in the toy store because it
was monsooning. she picked out a new car

We headed down to the beach even though it was cold and overcast. Josie needed to get acclimated to her new surroundings.

It's a daaaaaawg!

Tuesday, the sun came out so we headed back down! I'm sure everything looked so different to her and it was quite the experience.

Here's where the meltdown begins...

On Tuesday, Aunt Jesse and Great Uncle Richard came to visit and we had such a good time. We went to dinner that night and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed telling old stories.

Heading back out for our last day... I love these pictures of Nick and Josie walking to the beach.

one of my favorites of all time

Don't judge my arm. I wore a rash guard the rest of the day

finally started playing with some sand, thanks to

heading home- pre dump

The flight home was a little more hectic. Josie didn't sleep at all and the flights were completely packed. Unfortunately we got stuck next to some fat ass on the way to Columbus and he was taking up all our space. So what did Josie do to get back at him? She shit her pants. I could smell it immediately, but there was no way I was getting up from our window seat, past two large men, and stuffing ourselves into the bathroom to change a diaper. She freaks out in elevators, so I knew we were going to have to wait this one out. Thankfully the flight was only an hour.

Maybe next year she wont mind the sand. Nick and I are hoping to take a family trip every year, because it's important to have this special family time especially when the kids are young. Nick and I hadn't been on a vacation by ourselves for a few years, so we were overdue and it was so nice to have our new little travel partner along for the ride.

Here's to next year!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! It's the final countdown for our trip and we cannot wait! Sunny skies here we come.

There are really only two things you need to know about this week...

1- Josie has been nursing a cough and runny nose, so trying to get her healthy before our big trip. She has been in good spirits all week and is still eating and sleeping well, just need to get over the virus.

2- On Wednesday, Jen went to get Josie up from her nap, when she entered the room, she was completely naked and had taken off all her clothes and thrown her shitty diaper on the floor! Jen said it must have stunk so bad, she decided to handle things herself.

How embarrassing! Good lord. I told Jen she has NEVER done anything like that before. Hell, she has a hard time getting her socks off, let alone her top, pants AND diaper. I've never even seen her try and take off her clothes. I pray this isn't shades of things to come, because we don't need her taking her diaper off every time she takes a dump. 99% of the time she is happy to sit in her poo and when we ask her if she pooped (and we can smell her rotten ass from across the room) she always tells us NO. We'll see about all of this.

I only have a few pics from this week- been too busy and on cough patrol to do anything else.

excited to use Aunt Keri's stroller

I've been eyeing these sneakers for a long time

Excited to have Grandma come and stay with us tomorrow night, and I am making Guinness stew since we wont be here to celebrate the holiday. Busy night ahead with packing, cleaning, grocery shopping and gathering of last minute things.

Have a great weekend all! I'm sure we'll return with lots and lots of fun photos to share.

xoxo

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! The sun is shining, its supposed to be 52- its going to be a great day!

We have big plans to clean the house this weekend. I know I say that every week, but its now gotten out of control. I have piles of shit everywhere and no place to put it. Sooooo need to do some rearranging, purging and finding a spot for all my maternity clothes.

This week went by super fast, we are so busy in the evening and Josie is all over the place and always getting into everything. She has become my special helper. She loves to help with the laundry, helps load the dishwasher, and when our cell phones go off, she will bring them right over! Not sure if I like that one, but a reality of growing up today. I try and let her do as much as she can so she doesn't feel like we are always telling her "no". She is all about climbing on the couch these days and loves to sit in Nick's recliner.

bath time

"Big belly, little ass" as my Grandpa said about me :)

To say she loves Tiramisu really is an understatement. This video is from Monday night, and I put some on a plate, didn't show or tell her what I had AND it was in the dark. She saw me take one bite and literally starting screaming and ran behind me. She knew exactly what it was! I've had to share my leftovers with her all week. :)

She has also started helping herself to Cheerios. They are her favorite snack.

my sleeping beauty

I forgot to mention earlier this week, when we were in Kentucky, she woke up at 6 am and I had literally fallen asleep around 2 am so that wasn't going to cut it. I scooped her up and brought her in bed with me, and she slept until 8:30. It was so nice to have her sleeping next to me, snoring and yelling "no" in her sleep. I know I wont have her sleeping by me forever and I rarely do it, but I want to cherish these precious little moments with her as long as I can.

Also, everything is NO. Are you going to eat that? No! Are you done? No! Do you want to go upstairs? No! Did you poop your pants? No! Oy- the joy of living with a toddler. :)

Have a great weekend all!
xoxo

Lil KY Update

Well, this is all the proof you need and I have that we were in KY this weekend.... I totally forgot my big camera and we were too busy talking to take any others.

I made a special request for Tiramisu and Mary Ann hooked me up! It was so delicious and hit the spot- I'm sure the baby liked the little taste of Brandy besides. Josie absolutely LOVED it. She was obsessed and had already eaten 2 stuffed shells, peaches, a meatball and drank her milk. I had to share my piece and I swear she ate half of it.

Josie wasn't as "friendly" this time. Definitely more shy and she didn't want anyone else holding her. I know its a phase she is going through so told Mary Ann and Jimmie not to feel bad- she does this with everyone these days. She was very excited to see Laila and liked watching her run around. Josie's never seen such a small dog before, and they really enjoyed each others company, until Jimmie went to hold Josie and say good night. Thank god Mary Ann had a good hold on her because she got really jealous and about jumped out of her hands! Ha. Rosy is the same way when we leave the house. Small dog syndrome.

On our way down we stopped at the Moritz's for lunch. It was so nice to catch up with Liz and baby Patrick, it had been way too long. Josie had a lot of fun playing with all his toys and we are now on the hunt for a special bouncy ball that lights up!

More updates to come on Friday.
