Baby #2

I wasn't sure where to start, so I figured I would with the most exciting news of the weekend. We are having another baby girl! I had a feeling the last month or so that it was going to be a girl, Nick was still betting on a boy. I knew it once my belly finally popped- I can pretty much tell by the shape. Needless to say we are thrilled and even more happy that everything looked healthy on the ultrasound. We got a nice long look at our lady, she is developing perfectly and is roughly 1 lb.

She was a little sleepy in there, so the tech started lightly pounding on my stomach to get her to move and then she was tossing and turning. Here are the best pictures. She immediately zoned in on her hoo hoo- and was like well, its a girl...and Nick was like- are you sure??? Just then, baby spread em real wide so we could get a good look.

One of the best things is we don't have to change a thing in the nursery and I have all the clothes I need. Thank god their birthdays are so close because all the seasonal items should fit. I assume she will be roughly the same size as Josie- never know though.

Now, I need to start thinking of a few ideas for Josie's room. Nothing big, just new paint color, new bedding, finish the closet, maybe a new dresser, and a few new prints for the wall. Baby #2 will inherit all of the current nursery items, so basically getting the shaft a bit, but that's what happens to the second born.

We will definitely keep the name a secret again- we don't have any contenders yet. Some we had the first time around have gone out the window. Josephine was always our number one, so we will have to come up with something else that is special to us.

More updates to come this week- but great news on baby #2!

18 Months

OK, even writing that title is so weird to me! Where has the time gone? I can't believe we have a toddler, let alone an 18 month old. This last year and a half has been so special. Josie is such a joy, and we are so lucky to have her in our lives every.single.day. We really couldn't ask for much more. Lets just hope baby #2 is just as sweet.

I have some videos and pics from the last week that I'll post, but first a quick look back at her transformation. I know how much she has changed, but its unbelievable when you look at the timeline. I forget how little hair she had, and how chubby her cheeks and thighs were...those were the days. I still need to try and take a nice 18 month photo of her to send to everyone- hopefully this week or weekend.

3 days, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months...

This is one of her new favorite things to do...she gets right up in Simba's face and starts growling at him. hahahahha so cute.

sweet, sweet baby voice

She is really coming along with all of her words. If she doesn't know how to say something we ask of her, she will try to sound it out anyway. Now whenever she wants something ( usually more crackers, snacks, etc) we always have her say "more" and "please" sounds a lot like "mooeee beaz"

And when I get my phone or the camera out, and I asked her to say "cheese" she will say it and start smiling for a picture.

she really liked her pancakes!

We head to the doctor Friday afternoon for her 18 month check up, so will update everyone on what her stats are, and what the doctor says.

More fun things to catch up on Friday- needless to say, we were outside A LOT.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Its been raining all week and we are sick of it, but we did have a few days of sunshine and Josie absolutely loved it.

Since we've returned from FL, Josie wants to be outdoors all the time. She had free rain of going in and out of the house we rented, because there was a closed in, covered porch. Now, she likes to get her shoes, coat and sunglasses on so we can go out on the deck. She still hates the grass, and I try and coax her to walk to the fence to see the girls next door, but she wont budge and inch.

I think she was a little confused when we went home and she saw all her friends outside next door. It finally hit her that they were right there and she can see and play with them from across the yard. She was yelling "Elmo" ( Jen's dog) and saying Hi to everyone. When I went to pick her up on Tuesday she was outside playing on the slide and could care less that I was there. I kept asking her if she wanted to go see Dada and poo poo and she told me No- now I know where we stand.

Last Saturday we went to another indoor play place around the corner and Jen and her kids came as well. It was so much fun, and it still took Josie a bit to warm up, it was really busy because it was so nasty outside. She was a little afraid of the slide, so she went down with Jocie a bunch of times and by the end she was ready to go alone and climbing up the ladders. We are going to go back soon!

wanting outside

I have more pictures and stories but will save for this weekend. I plan on doing a 18 mo post, so need to save a few things. I cant believe she is going to be 18 months tomorrow! Where has the time gone!!!!

I have felt pretty crappy this week- lots of nausea and queasiness. It seems to come and go so trying to watch what I eat, get more sleep, and take walks with Josie on the nice days. Hopefully it doesn't rain all weekend and we can make some plans.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a long week- always seems that way after a vacation, but Josie got right back on schedule so no complaints here.

I forgot to add this to our vacation post..... Just because a "baby" doesn't have a lot of hair, has on blue pants (with pink snaps), a grey hoodie (with a coral liner) and pink and purple shoes, does NOT mean its a boy! Get it together people- I'm so tired of everyone calling Josie a boy, because I don't put big bows and headbands in her hair. Ugh, the nerve.

I move on...Josie is allllllllllll about my purse and has been for sometime. She likes to go through all my lip glosses, Vaseline, lipstick, and my glasses. She likes to carry it around, and since I've taken it away, she grabbed the next best thing.

She will put special things in her "purse", toss it on her arm and tell us "bye, bye"! hahahha its the cutest thing. Right now she is carting around a can of beans, a rock, and a little tv from her house. When I leave in the morning she always grabs my purse and bag for me and tells me "bye bye". I think we are going to have to get a purse for her, in the near future.

Nick has been going to physical therapy for his knee for a couple of weeks. Josie likes to do stretches with him.

last Friday after her nap- the only nice
day we've had

finally got her to take a bite of Watergate cake!
loved it of course.

Tomorrow grandma and grandpa are coming to take us out for my birthday, so we are looking forward to that! I think we are going to take Josie to an indoor play place around the corner tomorrow morning as well. Hopefully she doesn't stand in the corner again, we'll see. Other then that, we don't have any other big plans for the weekend. We have a ton of cleaning to do and catch up on our recorded shows. Sounds like a great weekend to me!

Florida Fun

We're baaaaaaack! I have to say we are missing the sunshine and warmer weather. Even though the first two days were cold and rainy, it was so nice to get away and take Josie someplace new.

She was such a good girl for me on both flights. She slept on the way to Atlanta and we literally had to run to our gate to catch our connection. The second flight was not so hot. I ended up in the last row...the last seat...next to the shitter...with no window...and the pilot kept having to circle the airport in FL because the wind was up and he was having a hard time landing. Thankfully Josie didn't seem to mind, but the old lady sitting across from me literally grabbed the barf bag, I thought I was going to have to do the same.

I have lots of pictures. deal with it.

we hung out in the toy store because it
was monsooning. she picked out a new car

We headed down to the beach even though it was cold and overcast. Josie needed to get acclimated to her new surroundings.

It's a daaaaaawg!

Tuesday, the sun came out so we headed back down! I'm sure everything looked so different to her and it was quite the experience.

Here's where the meltdown begins...

On Tuesday, Aunt Jesse and Great Uncle Richard came to visit and we had such a good time. We went to dinner that night and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed telling old stories.

Heading back out for our last day... I love these pictures of Nick and Josie walking to the beach.

one of my favorites of all time

Don't judge my arm. I wore a rash guard the rest of the day

finally started playing with some sand, thanks to
Aunt Jesse

heading home- pre dump

The flight home was a little more hectic. Josie didn't sleep at all and the flights were completely packed. Unfortunately we got stuck next to some fat ass on the way to Columbus and he was taking up all our space. So what did Josie do to get back at him? She shit her pants. I could smell it immediately, but there was no way I was getting up from our window seat, past two large men, and stuffing ourselves into the bathroom to change a diaper. She freaks out in elevators, so I knew we were going to have to wait this one out. Thankfully the flight was only an hour.

Maybe next year she wont mind the sand. Nick and I are hoping to take a family trip every year, because it's important to have this special family time especially when the kids are young. Nick and I hadn't been on a vacation by ourselves for a few years, so we were overdue and it was so nice to have our new little travel partner along for the ride.

Here's to next year!
