Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a bit since I did one of these so here we go.

Lots of pics to catch up on and thank god its a long weekend, I think everyone needs it.

eating some "cake" aka Tiramisu

A few weeks ago Uncles Johnny and Ernie were back in town, passing through on their journey to Hawaii. They came down for dinner and Nick made his manicotti, I made cannoli, and we had leftover Tiramisu from Aunt Mary Ann! What a feast! Tiramisu is Josie's absolute favorite! I'm going to have to get Mary Ann's recipe and try to duplicate. Once it was gone, she kept asking for "cake" throughout the week- sad to tell her it was all gone.

We probably wont see them for another year, so it was really sad to see them go, but we are SO happy for them. They are moving to Hawaii, building a house and are going to enjoy every minute of it. We will definitely be visiting since we have a nice place to stay.

priceless face...

Josie has been sleeping in later and later on the weekends- usually until 9, sometimes 9:30. Therefore she doesn't always get a nap in the afternoon, so a few weeks ago we put her to work! My car was disgusting and she was so happy to help Dada wash it up!

We went out for breakfast the next morning for some pancakes, and she actually tried the cinnamon bread! First time she's eaten bread willingly, so we were pretty pleased.

love this pic!

Since our new girl is going to be a Virgo, I thought this was fitting...

Big Girl Room

Well, I finally got around to taking pictures of Josie's new room now that its complete. I am really happy with the way it turned out. What I didn't want, was a bunch of Disney characters or "kiddy" things. I wanted to give her a room that she can grow into, and wont want to change every year, because she no longer likes that particular character.

Mission accomplished.

We found this at the Easton Art Show

Her new special closet that Dada and Uncle Frank
put together

Love her duvet- its so pretty

Reused the nightstand and lamp.
Worked out perfectly

I absolutely love this plate shelf from IKEA. It's exactly what we were looking for and fits perfectly into the space. I love how it displays all her special things. Newborn pic, books, jewelry box, and lots of special gifts from Great Grandpa Scully from Ireland.

Now do you see why I'm so concerned with her falling out of bed
its REALLY high

Best.Print.Ever

Found this mirror at Hobby Lobby for $45!

Maybe for Christmas I will get some decals for her wall. Its a little bland, but I didn't want to add too much stuff and make it look cluttered.

Nick worked his butt off to paint, put shelving together, add the rails and basically do anything I wanted. I tried to re purpose as much as I could and keep costs to a minimum. I think I did a pretty good job. The most expensive thing was her duvet, but that will last a long time.

She fell out of bed again this weekend, may need to get a rail for the bottom of the bed after all.

Mommy/Daughter Weekend

Nick was out of town a few weekends ago, so I took Friday off and Josie and I had a great weekend together. Friday we headed to the Zoo ( along with everyone one else in town), and Keri, Frank and the kids came down. We had such a good time walking around and see all the animals. Of course it was hotter than hell that day, I forgot the sunscreen and my shoulders got baked, thankfully Josie was in her stroller most of the time, so she was shaded.

The new Africa exhibit was by far the biggest hit with the kids. We didn't feed the Giraffes, maybe next time, we had to wait in a long line just to get up and see them. Josie and Frankie loved seeing all the animals and Chloe did as well.

obviously thrilled to be with me

she loved riding in the double stroller.
Chole kept trying to pull her hair

I don't remember what they were looking at- but what a
precious picture.

On Saturday, we met Grandma and Grandpa at Easton. We had to get a few last minute things for the baby and went to lunch. Josie was such a good girl even though she hadn't napped all weekend. She loved eating out and watching everyone. She is such a good shopper, I always take her with me whenever I go.

she kept saying-
"I sit at the table"

Everything right now (and has been for the last month or so) is "Mine". "Josie, can I take out your piggies? No, my piggies". "Do you want me to hold, doggie? No, my doggie". And so on and so forth. I'm sure this phase will continue for awhile, especially once the baby is here and can grab things from her.

Her vocabulary continues to boom and she is speaking in sentences now. Just the other night she was "reading", and I use that term loosely, a book to herself that we read often. She remembered the animals and the phrases asked on certain pages. She loves to point out animals and is starting to learn her colors. If you ask her what color something is, the answer is always "blue" but she will repeat what the correct color is once told.

She is now requesting to watch her favorite shows, which doesn't make me happy, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. Chica is still her favorite and the "gul babies" aka Bubble Guppies.

More to come soon- hopefully news about a baby this week- that would be nice! :)

Little Catch-Up

Time is flying and I have no time to myself- hence the lack of posting. I have to look at all my pics to even jog my memory of what the hell has happened in the last few weeks.

this is probably one of my favorite pictures
how cute- she loves to read and LOVES Snoopy

I have been nesting all weekend/week so far. I went to the doctor on Friday and I have already started to dilate, so that is good news. The bad news is, I could stay that way and have to be induced, but I really don't think that will happen.

I got all the newborn and baby clothes back from Keri, and got those sorted, washed and put way this weekend- man there is a TON. Some from me, some from her and some from her sister-in-laws. Needless to say, this baby doesn't need a thing. Josie hasn't paid attention to all the shuffling, but I bet she will be very interested when we get the bassinet, car seat and bunny bun from the basement. We'll see how it goes.

The nursery is almost completely back to newborn status- just need to raise the crib, add the dust ruffle and then get the last of Josie's belongings out of there. Hopefully we will have her room completed this week. We need to hang one shelf, and then I can post pictures.

More to come later this week (hopefully).
