Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I am back at work and it actually feels really nice. We are busy and the weather is perking up, so things are on the mend.

After our ultrasound last Friday we stopped by work for a Valentine's pot luck with my co workers. Josie wasn't as shy this time and ate two plates of fruit!

I brought dessert of course

even though she looks OK
she hated these overalls!

Last Saturday, we headed to Mansfield to tell everyone the big news! It took Josie a bit to warm up, but soon she was playing and dancing with Frankie. They had a great time together and she slept all the way home. Josie had about 4 pancakes and some strawberries, needless to say she was good to go for the rest of the day, and even took a huge poopie for Grandma to change!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Another nug on the way!

Well, we have quite the surprise to share with everyone! Nick and I are expecting again and we are really excited. I don't think its really set in for me yet....I'm slowly coming to the realization that there will soon be four of us, and I've been feeling like total shit so the happy pregnancy bliss hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm hoping that will change in the coming weeks.

I am currently 12 weeks along, and we had our first ultrasound last Friday with Dr. Charles. We took Josie with us so she could see how big she is and it was so nice to share Josie with her. I LOVE our doctor and I'm so glad I'll get to go through this with her again.

For those of you keeping score and thinking back, yes, I was pregnant at Christmas and had no idea and was boozing my face off! Jess and I drank so much wine, mimosas, beer and even a shot of liquor (thanks Andy!) I just hope everything turns out OK with this little nugget. The heartbeat was 189 bpm, and he (yes, I think it's a he) was kicking his legs and moving his arms around.

Here is our first picture. It's not as clear as the first with Josie, because to be honest, she didn't stick the wand up my hoo-ha. Our next ultrasound should produce better pictures.

We find out in April what we are having and then it will be time to plan. If it's another girl, I wont have to do a thing, which will be nice. We will have a busy summer though with potty training and moving Josie to a big girl bed. The ultimate goal is to have her in her new bed (comfortably) before the baby arrives. I don't want to be scrambling when we bring home a newborn, and she is up every night upset, because she isn't in her crib.

I know this is going to be a big change for everyone especially Josie. Sure, she is used to being around other kids, sharing, and playing, But she isn't used to sharing me, so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I know she will be the best big sister and will give lots of love to the baby. She loves to give hugs and kisses and is such a sweet soul.

We don't care whether its a boy or a girl, just a happy, healthy baby is all we can ask for. They will be a little closer in age then we wanted/planned, but a baby is a blessing no matter what, so we are trying to just go with the flow and enjoy this time. We have to soak up the next 6 months of it just being the three of us. I just hope this next little one is as well behaved as Josie and sleeps. We were sooooo lucky to have a good sleeper, and thank god she still is.

September 1st is my due date and I know the time is going to fly by. With a busy toddler, and me going back to full time at work, the weeks and months are going to go fast and September will be here before we know it. Monty is already "on-call" for that weekend-ish. I literally don't have one single picture of the three of us in the hospital, so its really important to capture those moments this time. No, he wont be in the delivery room with us, but I do want him there for the first time Josie comes to visit and holds her new baby brother or sister and for all the little moments in between.

OK, that's enough for right now. More to come as the months go on, but we wanted to share our big exciting news.

xoxo

Happy Friday

Happy Valentine's Day Friday everyone! Hope you had a great week. We were busy with god knows what, the usual things. Playing, surviving the cold and learning new things.

I keep forgetting to let you know that Josie can now go down the stairs by herself! Slow and steady wins the race, but nevertheless, she can make it down and gives herself a round of applause for a job well done. She is still obsessed with brushing her teeth and looks forward to it every night. I usually can't get her upstairs by saying we are going "night, night" but once I say, "lets go brush your teeth" she is off and running. Oh, and she will now tell us, "ni, ni".

Last weekend was a big deal for her in the food department, and I'm hoping its shades of better things to come. She tried a lot of food that she has rejected before. French fries, lasagna, cake, different shaped pasta, and hamburger. She loves ground beef and meatballs, but for some reason will not touch it if we are having burgers. It's so weird, she didn't eat much, but at least tried it, and that's all we can ask for.

I had to help her out. We would have been there
all night!

eating their apple snack- dada always shares

she loves going through my purse- found
herself a little present...

loves getting in our shoes- and then
immediately wants out

pushing tuna cans is FUN!

She is still my fruit queen. Any fruit she will eat and wants more more more. Wednesday night for dinner she had a pear, peaches and some cantaloupe. The only one she is not the biggest fan of is watermelon.

Also, she has finally dropped a nap and is now only napping in the afternoon. We certainly miss that morning nap and having the time to get things done, but its nice to have her up more and interacting. She used to sleep so much, I would only get a few hours a day with her. We also pushed her bedtime back to 8 pm because she has been waking up early. Wednesday she was up at 6:15 rarring to go. Every day is different and sometimes on the weekend she will sleep until 8-8:30, so we'll take what we can get.

Hope you all have a great and safe weekend. We are looking forward to brunch in Mansfield tomorrow- Biscuits and gravy here we come!!!!!

xoxo

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Sorry for the delay today,  I had to take Simba to the vet early to get another blood draw. I am happy to report that he is doing much better. We know the medicine is helping, so just need to see where his stats are and if he is on the correct dose.

We have had another brutally cold week here with about 10 inches of snow and ice. I really don't think I can take much more. We have been stuck inside for months and its getting really old. I feel so bad for Josie because we don't go anywhere, its just too cold to go outside at all.

Last Saturday we made a secret trip to Cincinnati to celebrate Molly and Joe's surprise 30th birthday. Molly was at a baby shower that afternoon so we all snuck in while she was gone and scared the shit out of her. I wish I had my camera recording because she almost fell off the stairs and had a heart attack. It was so nice to catch up with her and her family and see Miss. Caroline. Josie had the best time with Aunt Rose and Aunt Annie. She has become so painfully shy, it was hard to get her to open up, but the girls took great care of her.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention before we left for the day, I gave Josie a bath so she'd smell pretty for everyone. I wasn't paying too much attention, but she started saying, "ugh-oh" in the tub and then waving her hand behind her back and towards her booty. I figure out pretty quickly that she was tooting in the bath. Thankfully no turds were dropped!

On Monday, Daddy stayed out to work so it was a girls night. We had a great time eating and playing. Her favorite thing to do is dance. Anytime any music starts playing, she bobs her head and shakes her booty. She especially loves ghetto beats. Not sure what that is about, but its pretty funny to watch.

dancing queen

dancing with her friend London

we Britney Spears'd it to Jens the next morning

Wednesday was another snow day so we went out for lunch and had a great time. This was the first time she sat in a booster seat. It was so weird having her sit next to me like a little person. She is growing up too fast. She ate a bowl of macaroni and cheese and applesauce.

we have started putting on the music channel during
commercials and she LOVES it.
Not sure about those dance moves though....

And finally...waiting to eat dinner. Yes, that belly is PRE dinner, not post.

No big plans for the weekend- try to stay warm I guess. Oy, when will Spring be here????

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Yes, we're back. We haven't been doing much, so that's the reason for the lag on the blog, but we are happy to be back with some fun new things to report.

Hopefully this awful weather is finally gone for good, because we have been stuck inside and I cant take it anymore. Josie is starting to go nuts as well. Well...I think the day she hit 15 months, the tantrums started. EVERYTHING is a huge deal these days. Try and give her a broken graham cracker? Forget about it. Say no to her hauling around and opening your 3lb water bottle? Melt down on the way. Tell her no when she wants to put her fingers in your cereal? She will scream in your face. I knew this "stage" was coming, but for some reason I thought, "Oh, it won't be so bad, nothing seems to bother her." Wrong. Again. She literally launched a magazine at Nick's face the other day. It was so hard to try and not laugh, because we needed to discipline her and tell her that was bad. As soon as we told her no, we just busted out laughing. Thankfully, it hasn't happened again.

On the bright side she is learning and understanding more each day. The last two weeks she has really started to repeat words and tries really hard when you ask her to repeat new ones. Right now she loves to tell us "no" and Simba "no". And when she is walking around with a cracker she tells Simba to "go". She can say, "all gone", "Elmo", "sit", "out" and she loves to tell me "bye" every morning accompanied with a hug, kiss and a wave. I'm trying to teach her to say "more" when eating instead of screaming. She doesn't seem to want to say it, so she'll just smile and clap her hands when I ask her if she wants "more".

I also started a new bedtime routine with her- teeth brushing. She always has really stale breath in the morning, not going to lie. She eats so many cheerios that's what her breath permanently smells like, so I thought a nice brushing before bed would help. She loves to brush her teeth and tries to do it herself. We are using a special Piglet one the dentist gave us.

anything seem off in this pic?

new do do

she ate 2 meatballs and a whole plate
of pasta. happy girl

she did not want to get up yesterday

wild ass's

We don't have much planned for the weekend. Probably do some major cleaning, watch the super bowl and bust out our bathing suits because its going to be 40 degrees.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday Everyone! Sorry I didn't update throughout the week. Simba hasn't been feeling too well so its been real busy around here.

So, first update on him. He definitely has Cushing's Disease which is I believe an adrenal gland disease and his is over producing steroid and its throwing his body completely out of wack. Hence the weight loss, spotty coat, weakness, and extreme thirst. We are going to start medication either today or Monday and hopefully he will improve immediately.

Next, Josie's 15 mo check-up. She is a healthy, happy, growing girl and hitting all her milestones. She weighs 27lbs and is 33in tall  (99-97th %). Dr. Niland said she is a "big girl" so we are really trying to watch how many snacky things she eats and aren't giving her as much milk- just at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

She has some diarrhea this morning so I hope she isn't getting sick :(. We have a lot going on today, carpet cleaners coming, maybe taking Simba back to the vet, going to the mall, cleaning the house...busy day ahead.

she has some moves

Monday we went with Dada to get his haircut, and visit with Kyong, and decided on whim to finally trim her bouffant in the back. She was starting to get a mullet and woke up with a bad case of bed head every morning. Kyong didn't cut much, and Josie was a little unsure (didn't like the feel of the comb), but we got the job done. Her precious little locks are in an envelope for safe keeping.

trying peanut butter for the first time!

Hope you all have a great weekend. Stay warm!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! It has been another cold, long week, but we survived and are glad the weekend is here! It was so cold this week, my office was closed on Tuesday! This is what the inside of the doors to our building looked like on Monday.

It's been so miserable, I am actually looking forward to the rain this weekend and 40 degrees. We didn't leave the house all weekend or week, so hopefully we wont be inside for too much longer. Even though we were cooped up, Josie managed to have a great time!

mmmm snack pack

We head to the doctor this afternoon and I cant wait to see what Dr. Niland has to say. Hopefully she can give me some tips on getting her to eat more. I will say she is getting better. She likes it when I put food on her little turquoise plate and will at least put food in her mouth. She doesn't always eat it, but we will take anything at this point- baby steps.

She is alllllllllllll about giving kisses these days. To me, dada, simba, all her stuffed animals and baby dolls. She loves yelling "poo poo" ( simba's nickname), and yells "boo" when we are playing peek-a-boo, and now knows where her nose is. Oh, and she randomly walked up to me over the weekend and gave me a pat on the back. So funny.

I am also taking Simba to get an ultrasound this morning, so keep him in your prayers. Trying to figure out what is wrong with him and hoping for the best.

Have a great weekend all!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday and Happy New Year everyone! I can't believe its 2014- time is flying by. Nick, Josie and I celebrated the new year, by eating some Italian food, and going to bed at 10 pm. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

I have basically been off work for the last 3-4 weeks and have loved every minute spent with Josie. She is growing so much and understands EVERY little thing we say. When its time for bed, I tell her to go say goodnight to Dada, and she goes over to Nick gives him a kiss and then crawls upstairs. She then picks out two books for me to read. Her favorite right now is the new one Aunt Jessie got her for Christmas! Also, she is really into giving kisses at the moment, so we are taking full advantage. Even Simba gets a few.

We go to the doctor for her 15 mo check-up next week so cant wait to see what her stats are AND she'll get to try peanut butter!!!! Big item to do this month.

Its about 15-20 below zero this morning, so needless to say, we will not be venturing out and running errands. Nick and I were able to take down all the holiday decorations on new years day, so our house looks about twice the size.

she wouldn't move from that spot-
neither would Simba :)

giving kisses

Have a safe and warm weekend everyone!
