Happy Friday

Hope everyone had a great week! This week went by pretty quickly, and Josie and I intend to enjoy the sunshine today :). This weekend we are planning on cleaning, getting ready for our big trip next weekend, and spending time with Dada. I have the perfect father's day gift for Nick, so check back to see what I came up with!

Here are this week's pics!

Baby Moritz!

Sunday, I left Josie with Daddy, and ran to Cincinnati to celebrate Liz and Joseph's upcoming arrival! They didn't find out the sex ( I don't know how they can wait!), so we decided to do the shower with lots of fun colors. Obviously, more girly than manly, but I wanted to play off of the adorable invites I found.

We decided to do a brunch so it was super casual and we had lots of yummy food. Egg casserole, yogurt bar, orzo salad, lemon poppy seed muffins, mimosas, punch, cut out cookies and cinnabons! There were 5 pregnant girls there- must be a record.

Liz received lots of wonderful gifts and fun baby books. We can't wait to meet the little lady/man and couldn't be happier for them.

Whoa flashback to last August! :)

Oh yea, and here is what my first Friday off looked like.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Its cold and cloudy here so hopefully its nice where you are! It's my first official Friday off and new adventures await. We probably wont do too much because Josie sleeps alllll day- at least I can get some cleaning and organizing done in the meantime.

So my friend and coworker sent me this link last night and I was literally laughing my ass off. Nick was wondering what was so funny, so I showed him the goods. We were talking about babies with bad wigs, I mean hair, this week at work, and she delivered this little nugget of a website last night. They are in search of the "Most epic head of baby hair" and have 50 entries to choose from. Here are three of my favorites. Click on the link to view the complete list.

Let's get something straight- if your baby comes out looking like it needs a hair cut, you should probably cut that shit. And if it grows at the rate of a chia pet, looks like it hasn't been brushed in a year, or like Daddy took a weed wacker to their head, you should probably find the nearest super cuts.

Annnnd a few of our sweet thang!

8 Months

Holy Moley, time is just a flying by! I seriously can't believe Josie is 8 months old and we are closing in on her first birthday! She has been so busy this last month, where shall we begin.

Since she is now on a new nap schedule, I can actually leave the house for more than an hour at a time! It's really great actually, and that girl is like clockwork! She's knows her schedule and sticks to it! Here is a quick breakdown of her day.

7 am- wake up, nurse
8:30-11- nap
11- bottle/nurse
************
12:15 pm- vegetable snack
12:45-3:15- nap
3:15- bottle/nurse
3:30-5- play time- wait for mom to pick up
5:15- nurse
6- fruit snack
7-8-nap
8:10-nurse
8:30-bed

And then we get to do it allllll over again the next day. A lot of time I try and take her on a quick walk before her 6 pm snack, or we just play in the house. Nick and I put her in the walker the other day- she was literally running around the house and slamming into the walls. I've never seen her move so quickly!

We are still working on crawling, and she is starting to get it. She scoots backwards, turns herself around and will get up on her knees for a minute, then gets pissed and is over it. She loves to stand though, so she may just skip crawling- we shall see.

She is still dependent on her paci to go to sleep, but thankfully we don't have to rock her anymore! I don't know if I need to thank Jen or Nick, but its so nice. I let her stand in the crib for a minute to play with her mobile, then turn on the sleep sheep, give her the paci, shut the door and she's good to go! She's been sleeping on her tummy for a while now, so last weekend when Nick put her down and 5 minutes later, we checked the monitor, all we saw were legs and ass. Most night she completely turns herself around and sleeps at the other end of the bed.

She is definitely going through some separation anxiety because the last few weeks she does not want to be put down, or gets upset when we leave the room. I know its common at this age, and she doesn't get upset that much, so a little crying here and there is OK. She is still happy 99% of the time, and is so ticklish and LOVES when Simba comes around.

Food is still going really well. She tried blackberries this weekend and loved them! I just wish I could get more than 2 servings out of a $3.50 tub. Ridic. Josie eats 4 cubes per meal! hahha, that really is a lot, but 3 just wasn't cutting it, so I bumped her up to 4 and she is much happier now. In the next month or so, we will start with finger foods and my anxiety will go through the roof.

In all, things are going really well, shes progressing like she should, and is growing up way too fast. She has no interest in saying Dada anymore, hahaah so still working on "mama" and "hi".

Here are her stats- did the best we could!

Height- 28in
Weight- 20lb 3oz
Diaper Size- just moved to 4
Clothes Size- 9 mo
Eye Color- changes with her clothes- hazel or brown

she is getting so big!

In a few weeks we are going back to Missouri, so that will be the true test. Baby, airplane, new faces, new places, etc...hopefully she does well.

I also have exciting news- I now have Friday's off! As you can see from Josie's daily schedule, when I get home from work, I literally have 2 hours at the most with her before she is asleep. So having that extra day designated just for us will be amazing, and I get to keep all of my benefits! Its a win, win for everyone.

Sorry this is so long...apparently we have more going on then I thought.

This is what happens now when we turn our heads for 2 minutes- she can't be trusted any longer!

Side note- look at this pretty pic I took from our front porch today! Love the camera

More pictures, stories and stats to come on Wednesday! Stay tuned.

Happy Friday

Happy Friday! Why do holiday weeks always seem like the longest?? TGIF!

Since I didn't do a damn thing last weekend, this weekend I am determined to clean my closet, dust dressers and shelves, walk dog, get goodies for baby shower next weekend, spend qt time with Nick and Josie.

Since I didn't write an update about her last Friday, I can't remember if I told you, but she has tried a few new foods. Zucchini, Apricots and Summer Squash. I also bought some blackberries for this weekend- I'm sure she'll love them. She also has a new trick. She LOVES to turn the pages when we are reading at night. I try and always read thicker paged books so she can help. After I'm done reading the page, I tell her, "turn the page", and she does it right on cue- so cute! These two books are our favorites right now and I highly recommend them. Wherever you are and Tickle Time.

Here are the phone purge pics- not too many, but goodies all the same.

And in case you didnt have time to visit the UB2 website from her photo shoot- here are my favorite shots.

Have a great weekend everyone! XOXO

Weekend Update

What a great weekend we have had and its not over yet! We are still enjoying today ( the sun finally came out!) and its only 5 pm!

This weekend was pretty busy by our standards, and we've had a lot of fun. First, Josie is famous. Yes, that's right- FAMOUS!!!! Click here and here to see our precious in action. I found these bonnets at a small store in downtown Columbus a month ago, found the website, and fell in love. I couldn't have imagined that this adorable company would be nestled in hippie town,OH- a.k.a. Yellow Springs. I immediately contacted the owner to see if she would want Josie to model her bonnets and we had a date set that day!

Here are some pictures that I took as well- of course I like hers better. We even got to take home one of the adorable bonnets and plan to go back soon for another shoot and pick out another hat.

Sunflower the Hen

Sunday we ran up to Mansfield for a few hours for some bbq. Despite not sleeping all afternoon, Josie was in a pretty good mood. Now that those two teeth have fully popped, she's much  happier.

No thank you to Frankie's kisses

And some other randoms from this and last weekend.
